Pakistan's Masood Azhar, whose listing as a global terrorist by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on March 13 was yet again scotched by Pakistan's old ally, China, has the dubious distinction of nearly single-handedly bringing India and Pakistan to war - twice.
Beijing blocked the plea that sought a United Nations ban on Jaish-e-Mohammed and declaration of its chief Masood Azhar a global terrorist - actions that would force Pakistan to stop its support to the Kashmiri terrorist and bring Azhar before the arms of worldwide laws against terrorism.
In response to Gandhi's tweet targeting the Prime Minister, the BJP also said on Twitter that the country's first Prime Minister and Gandhi's great grandfather, Jawaharlal Nehru, compromised India's interests at the UNSC.
A pilot who was shot down over Pakistani territory was later sent back to India as a goodwill gesture.
Azhar founded Jaish-e-Muhammed, or the Army of Mohammed, in 2000 in Pakistan and has used the group to funnel weapons, cash and other support to the Taliban and al-Qaida, according to the United States. "Let's see how generous he is", said Ms Swaraj at an event in New Delhi. Whatever support terror groups got in Pakistan in the past, Khan said, they would no more get any support.More news: Sling them out or long delay: Europeans weigh Brexit options

Sources say while the worldwide opinion was largely in favour of imposing sanctions on Azhar, China has shown that it would not act under the pressure of anyone and especially the United States. India says it has presented evidence on the Pulwama attacks to Pakistan.
The diplomat spoke on condition of anonymity to give a sense of the feeling of other members of the Security Council after China blocked the move to designate Azhar a global terrorist. "It's a diplomatic issue, and India will take a decision after a careful thought", Jaitley told CNN-News18. Pulwama caused nationwide anger. It will have a negative impact on soft power and on China's image in India. "Recently China "firmly opposed" PM Modi's Arunachal visit", they added. His tweet came soon after China blocked India's bid to get Azhar listed as an worldwide terrorist in the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), making it the fourth time it did so. But US and European officials say they are waiting to see if the crackdown is effective or if the militants' infrastructure will spring back to life once worldwide pressure on Islamabad subsides.
The External Affairs Ministry said India will continue to pursue all available avenues to ensure that leaders of terror groups involved in heinous attacks on Indian citizens are brought to justice.
India and China have growing economic ties but also a trust deficit caused by a festering border dispute and China's close ties with Pakistan.
On Tuesday, the Trump administration had said that Azhar meets the criteria for designation by the United Nations. The director took to Twitter, suggesting to not release Indian films in China. India can use the Consolidated List of the UN Sanctions Committee which contains the names of 262 individuals and 82 entities seeking action against Pakistan and isolating it. "China is ready to communicate and coordinate with all sides including India to properly handle this issue", he said.
