'Thor' Actor Chris Hemsworth Set to Play Hulk Hogan in Netflix Film


Hemsworth is best known for portraying Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, beginning with "Thor" in 2011, followed by "The Avengers", "Thor: The Dark World", "Avengers: Age of Ultron", "Doctor Strange", "Thor: Ragnarok", "Avengers: Infinity War", and the upcoming "Avengers: Endgame", scheduled to be released in April. Hogan will executive produce along with Sugar23's Ashley Zalta.

The movie will not touch on the later years of Hogan's life. which include a nasty divorce, his sex tape scandal and a years-long lawsuit against Gawker Media.

Hogan, born Terry Bollea, cut his teeth in the CWF, a Floridian professional wrestling organization early in his career, before debuting in Vincent J. McMahon's World Wrestling Federation in 1979.

'We need a serious, serious actor that knows what he's doing, ' he said.

Hogan's look isn't the only iconic thing about him.

Previous year he returned to WWE to be reinstated into the WWE Hall of Fame and make several appearances on pay-per-view events and network programs, his appearances proving that Hulkmania lives on for many wrestling fans.

The Hollywood Reporter got the scoop about the planned film, which will be directed by Todd Philips after he wraps The Joker with Joaquin Phoenix and produced by Hemsworth, Philips, Michael Sugar, Bradley Cooper, and former pro wrestler Eric Bischoff.

Hemsworth caught the recent UFC match in Melbourne, maybe he was picking up a few moves.
