Soap opera star Kristoff St. John dead at 52, TMZ reports

Kristoff St. John, the actor best-known for portraying Neil Winters on CBS' long-running daytime soap The Young and the Restless, has died.

Law enforcement sources say one of St. John's friends went to check on him at the actor's home in San Fernando Valley, and found his body. "Police and paramedics were alerted and responded to the house", but St. John was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death has not been made public, but some reports have said it was suspected alcohol poisoning.

In real life, St. John dealt with drama that could have rivaled a soap opera.

"So early", she wrote in her Instagram Stories. His ex-wife, Mia St. John, issued a statement at the time explaining that the death of their son had "taken a toll on both of us". At the time, Mia spoke out, saying that her ex's heart was "broken" after losing their son (via Entertainment Tonight). St. John is survived by two other children, Paris and Lola. I will never forget how wonderful he was to me and everyone else he came into contact with.

St. John proposed to Mikhaleva in August 2018.

St. John's son Julian died in November 2014 at age 24, in what was ruled a suicide and following a history of mentally illness.
