Snow, sleet and freezing rain: Winter Weather Advisory issued for Tuesday night

The freezing rain may last several hours before changing over to rain later Wednesday with the passage of a warm front.

"Snow will develop late this morning or early this afternoon and spread east through the day". Rain showers, windy southwest winds between 20-25mph and wind gusts near 40mph.

Our high temperature for Wednesday will occur just after midnight at 37-42, followed by falling temperatures with west winds 20-40 miles per hour.

Another five cm to 10 cm of snow is expected Wednesday before the flakes mix with freezing rain in the afternoon. Temperatures Wednesday night will reach the upper 20s.

As of 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, the warning applied to Montreal, Vaudreuil, St-Eustache, St-Rémi and Mascouche. Blowing & drifting snow is likely with winds from the southeast to south. Cloudy, with temperatures falling to around 22 by 5 p.m. Patchy rain will continue as heavier, solid rain moves eastward.

Along with the warm temperatures and rain, there are also going to be intense winds across the province.

After several days of bitter cold, Toronto could be in for another bout of winter weather.

The NWS says most of the snow will fall throughout Tuesday evening, and snowflakes are expected to be relatively light and fluffy. Friday night, a chance of snow before midnight.

By Thursday, we could be looking at highs in the low 50s.
