The UFC's Anthony Smith has been on a tear through the light heavyweight class recently, earning him the No. 3 ranking. It looks like Jones was still in the fighting mood after he defeated Gustafsson.

A fight between Cain Velasquez and Jones for the vacant championship is tentatively scheduled for the first quarter of 2020.

After the fight, Jones challenged old adversary Daniel Cormier to "come get your belt back" as he hinted at a potential trilogy fight with his longtime rival and current UFC heavyweight champion.

Based on his post-fight tweet, Cormier is not impressed with the circumstances surrounding Jones' victory, tweeting his displeasure with the hashtag #usadafake.

Jones is one of arguably greatest fighter to ever compete in MMA, and although he's rarely been tested inside the octagon, "Lionheart" believes he has the tools to threaten the pound-for-pound great. Despite everything surrounding him outside of the cage, Jones was his usual, dominant self inside of it as he finished Alexander Gustafsson via third-round TKO.
