All of the XFL cities already have National Football League teams except for St. Louis. Vince noted that representatives from the eight team cities were in attendance.

The other host cities include New York (MetLife Stadium), Dallas (Globe Life Park), Houston (TDECU Stadium), Los Angeles (StubHub Center), Seattle (Century Link Field), Tampa Bay (Raymond James Stadium), and Washington D.C. (Audi Field).

This is the second go-round for the XFL, which is backed by World Wrestling Entertainment chairman Vince McMahon. The XFL announcement press conference back in January lasted about 25 minutes and included an opening statement from McMahon and a Q&A portion at the end. The league will begin play on February 8, 2020, the weekend after that year's Super Bowl.

"We are committed to being ingrained in the local community and extremely fortunate that our teams will have world-class facilities to call home", XFL CEO Oliver Luck said.

Luck said the games will feature a shorter play clock compared to the National Football League and conclude in less than three hours.

Luck stressed that the XFL will be "football reimagined" with "less stall, more ball".

It did not give details on how the league will be different than the NFL but said research is underway.

At Wednesday's press conference, Luck said the XFL will test for PEDs.

Also, the league said tickets will have an "affordable price" but the ticket price range was not announced.

Luck said fans can go to XFL.com to put a deposit on season tickets. "New Jersey couldn't be happier to be one of the eight host sites for the XFL's 2020 revival season".

The XFL will face competition in the spring from the Alliance of American Football, which begins play in 2019.

Eight cities and venues will be revealed as the XFL prepares for the 2020 season.
