Jennie-O Turkey Store Sales Inc.is recalling about 164,210 pounds of raw ground turkey products due to the possibility of salmonella contamination, the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service said Friday.
Based on the continuing investigation, additional product from other companies may also be recalled.
The products were made between October 22, 2018 and October 23, 2018, the agency stated. The recalled turkey was shipped to retail locations nationwide. Big signs to look out for are "freeze by" dates of November 12 or November 13, as well as the establishment number "EST". "P-579" inside the USDA mark of inspection or on the side of the tray".

One person in California died from the illness, and 84 others have been hospitalized, according to the CDC.
Consumers with these products in their freezer should toss them out or return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
This investigation is part of a larger effort involving FSIS, the CDC, and state public health and agriculture partners.
