And now South Korean tech giant Samsung has announced the launch date of its Galaxy A8s smartphone which will also feature an in-display hole for the selfie sensor. Samsung already unveiled this particular type of Infinity screen along five other versions at its SDC18, and that was just days after it teased the design with the help of an unannounced Galaxy A8s. The insider also revealed the Samsung Galaxy S10 in the video. The two holes will each be home to a camera which means the Galaxy S10 Plus will have dual front-facing cameras. Huawei put 3 lenses on the back of the P20 Pro and Mate 20 series while Samsung has 4 on the Galaxy A9.

Huawei recently confirmed the launch date for it's Huawei Nova 4 smartphone by releasing a teaser poster on its official Weibo account. From that image one could see the positioning of the front camera on the top left corner.

Huawei Nova 4 is speculated to come equipped with an LCD display.

The device is believed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor with up to 6GB of RAM.

Samsung First To Announce Smartphone With Hole In Display

Samsung's technology is said to be arriving and featuring the new Infinity O display on Galaxy A8 and the O is said to be in there for the circular camera hole. Samsung too is suspected to release its phone during December and in all probability will directly compete with Huawei Nova 4. The sole selfie camera here is expected to be coupled with a triple rear-camera setup as more sensors are now becoming the norm. 24 and 2-megapixel cameras may be included on the front side of the device, while pretty much everyone is expecting to see Android 9 Pie pre-installed on this smartphone.

Samsung's first foldable phone will likely come with a price tag of more than 1.5 million won (US$1,353).

Other reports have suggested that the display will now cover every inch of the S10 with the bezels that currently sit at the top and bottom of the S9 disappearing for good.

USA rival Sprint has teamed up with LG to release a 5G smartphone in the first few months of 2019 ad well, although it is unclear which device will hit the shelves first.
