Tyler Perry Announces Final Madea Film ‘Tyler Perry: A Madea Family Reunion’

Perry told the interviewer that he filmed her Funeral film two years ago, and he's finally ready to say goodbye to the character.

Tyler Perry rose to national prominence with his stage plays and specifically for his character Madea.

Movie mogul Tyler Perry has decided that Madea has lived a long, prosperous and hilarious life at the box office and on stage.

Perry made the announcement Monday (Oct. 29) during a Sirius XM interview stating that the fiery, gun-toting grandmother would say goodbye to audiences.

"It's time for me to kill that old bitch", he joked.

The New Orleans-born, Atlanta-based showrunner masterminded Madea as a "PG version" of his mother and aunt back in 2009, and she'll be put to rest a decade later in A Madea Family Funeral hitting theaters March 1.

Tyler Perry's latest movie, Acrimony, starring Taraji P. Henson, was the cause of several Twitter arguments these past few months as Nigerian moviegoers debated the merits of the movie and it's intricate - if not, emotionally exhausting - plotline.
