Late Manchester United double downs Juventus

After listening to taunts from the Juventus crowd for 90 minutes, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho couldn't help but pay them back in kind.

United head to Italy looking for a response after they were beaten 1-0 by Massimiliano Allegri's side at Old Trafford last month, a result that put the Serie A side five points clear of the Red Devils at the top of Group H.

"I think it's always good to be the outsider, so people expect bad of us and then we surprise people", said Pogba afterwards.

In his post-match presser, Mourinho was even less apologetic and simissed concernt that his actions were against any UEFA rules, telling the assembled press: "You remember what they did to me?" They are a fantastic team with an wonderful record at home. I could speak for a lot of young players and United fans that watched the team when he was here and the majority of us have followed him as he's moved on in his career and that's what's special about United.

Undeterred by Ronaldo's abdominal muscles, United battled on, and got their break four minutes from time, when substitute Juan Mata curled home a sublime equalizer from a set piece just outside the area. I went to Ronaldo's home debut for Juventus and it just wasn't quite happening back then - he looked like he just needed a goal to get him started.

"And it is a great joy for me because we won against a super team, and not because they are the enemy of Inter".

DF Victor Lindelof, 6 - courageous block from a Ronaldo shot early on but lost him when Leonardo Bonucci floated a ball over the top to allow the former United man to smash Juventus into the lead.

Mourinho's teams are famous for being able to keep clean sheets but they seem incapable at the moment.

"I think we played this season against Chelsea and Juventus away, the two best teams that we faced this season and we played very well in both.

But the way he's sustained his career and even improved year on year is just incredible", Rashford told Manchester United's official website.

United looked confident in possession in the opening exchanges but it was Juventus who had another chance shortly after as Rodrigo Bentancur's shot from outside the box was deflected behind for a corner.

Mourinho remarked: "Of course, they are strong, of course they have phenomenal players".

It doesn't bode well ahead of a trip to Manchester City on Sunday.

"United were far better at restricting them".
