An Aladdin teaser is now available to start getting you excited about the film. What has been your favorite live-action Disney remake so far? The biggest wildcard here is the character of the Genie. Williams won a special Golden Globe Award in 1993 for his work on the film. Smith followed it up by saying, "Can't wait for y'all to see me BLUE!", alluding to his role as Genie. Much singing follows, and Gilbert Gottfried voices a parrot.

According to The Hollywood Report, the "Aladdin" cast list also includes Mena Massoud (Aladdin), Naomi Scott (Jasmine), Marwan Kenzari (Jafar) and Billy Magnussen and Nasim Pedrad as Jasmine's friends. Original composer Alan Menken is teaming up with Oscar-winning "La La Land" songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul to add two new songs to the movie. "His take on "Aladdin" is very muscular and action-packed, and that's a very cool energy and point of view to bring into the mix".

From the looks of the first trailer, released Thursday evening, the film doesn't seem shy about borrowing familiar elements from its predecessor. The movie will hit theaters May 24, 2019. Disney is also developing live-action remakes for their streaming service - titles like The Sword in the Stone and Lady and the Tramp. "As the filming went on it really became like a family and Guy was just unbelievable, finding these little nuances to make it (the film) so much more intense or powerful".
