Smartphone with five cameras, LG has launched a new flagship V40 ThinQ


This phone uses LG's proprietary Silky Blast process which etches the tempered glass back with microscopic pits to create a smoother matte finish which feels extremely comfortable in the hand without being slippery. LG is throwing everything but the kitchen sink at content creators with the newly launched LG V40 ThinQ. The standout feature of this device will be the five cameras, there are triple cameras on the rear and dual cameras on the front.

A 3,300mAh battery is packed inside the flagship and should deliver all-day life. The aspect ratio is 19.5:9. This means the LG G7 has a slightly sharper screen compared to the LG V40 with a pixel density of 564ppi over 538ppi. But if the G7 were used IPS-matrix, the V40 received a POLED panel with a diagonal of 6.4 inches. Powering the device is Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC coupled with 6GB RAM and option for 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. It also supports fast charging Quick Charge 3.0 feature that will charge phone 50% in just 36 minutes. Coming to the rescue for most of the people, LG has kept 3.5 mm jack with 32-bit Quad DAC support. And Boombox Speaker doubles the bass of conventional smartphone speakers by utilizing the internal space of the device as a resonance chamber. The LG V40 is also tuned by Meridian. On the back there are a: 16MP Super Wide (F1.9 / 1.0μm / 107°), 2MP Standard (F1.5 / 1.4μm / 78°) and a 12MP Telephoto (F2.4 / 1.0μm / 45°). The rear camera of the phone can record video in 4K at 60fps and there's a 1080p at 240fps mode for cool slow-mo shots. On the front, this LG flagship has dual cameras, with a 5-Megapixel wide-angle camera and an 8-Megapixel standard camera.

There is one8 MP standard camera with f/1.9 aperture and 1.12-micron pixels which offers premium "Bokeh effect" for portraits. The 107-degree super wide-angle lens captures subjects with more of the background easily, while the telephoto with 2x optical zoom (or 3.2x the zoom of the wide-angle lens) takes clear shots from distance without a loss in image quality. Next up, it has a super wide 16 MP camera with a f/1.9 aperture and a 107 degree field of view. Support artificial intelligence, laser autofocus and LED flash included. The software experience between these devices will therefore be similar.

The official update with Slow Motion video, AR Emojis and September 1, 2018, Android Patch for Samsung Galaxy S8 and ... The LG V40 uses all three cameras on the back to take three photos simultaneously.

She continues: "With so many other smartphone makers adding (or rumored to be adding) extra lenses to their devices, splurging on this particular LG handset is a decision you may regret in a few months".

As for LG V40 ThinQ release date and prices, there's still no words from the tech firm.

The phone will be on shelves from October 18 with the price tag of $900 depending on the carrier.
