Red Dead Redemption 2 Is 60 Hours Long

The average play time for Gran Theft Auto V sits at between 25 to 30 hours and this is mainly for the story content. Roughly five hours of content was removed from what will be the final product, including a secondary love interest for lead character Arthur Morgan, and a number of missions which Houser considered not to be "quite slick enough, or they felt superfluous". Including one on a train where you had to take out a group of bounty hunters. Houser previously clashed with Burt Reynolds, who appeared in 2002's GTA: Vice City, and Public Enemy's Chuck D, from 2004's Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

"This part of the process is always about compromise and horse trading".

As Rockstar Intel highlighted, RD2's game length will cast a shadow over some of the best, and biggest, AAA titles released to date. The game will let players wield a variety of weapons, from pistols, to rifles, to sawed-off shotguns, all of which can be fully customized - upgrade your gun's performance with new barrels, grips, sights and scopes, and tweak how they look with new metals, woods, varnishes and engravings. I guess that explains why each NPC has 80-page scripts. The first Red Dead Redemption could be finished in under 13 hours. Insane working schedules, with Houser admitting that the dreaded "crunch" time of Red Dead Redemption 2's development lead some of the team working several 100-hour weeks. Were you expecting something this huge? Clearly, the studio must have compensated the devs working the extra hours.

Red Dead Redemption II is out in less than two weeks but you will have seen precious few previews of the game in the seven years it took to make, and even less interviews with the creators.
