Liverpool and United in transfer fight for Ramsey

AC Milan will reportedly make an attempt to recruit Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal in the January transfer window.

Arsenal handed Mesut Ozil a contract worth a reported £350,000 a week back in February to make the former Germany worldwide the highest paid player in their history.

"I am contracted to Arsenal and I am going to do my best to try and achieve something special".

The Welshman's represenattives had been locked in talks with the Gunners for a number of months over a new deal at the Emirates.

And you get the sense that talk about Ramsey stems less from the fact that United want him and more because it has been recently confirmed that he will not be playing under Unai Emery next year.

It will be third time lucky for the Old Trafford club should they win in the battle to secure Ramsey's signature.

It's thought Emery was behind Arsenal's decision to back away from a £185,000-a-week contract offer which has left Ramsey vowing to stay until the end of the season - and walk away for free.

Liverpool and Manchester United have been linked with the midfielder, while there is also rumoured to be interest from reigning Serie A champions Juventus.

Ramsey has become the latest big-name player who has let their contract run down at Arsenal in order to secure a well-paid move to a rival club.

"Of course, yeah", he replied when asked if he could stay at Arsenal for the remainder of the campaign.

"Everything has been going great with the club".

"I don't really know what's happening at Arsenal".
