A leakster out of Germany, who's had several exclusive scoops based on his carrier sources, now reports that the new 2018 iPhone will actually follow the prices of their predecessors at launch pretty closely, with the exception of the 6.5-inch Xs Plus/Max.

The iPhone XC will be a cheaper version of the iPhone X - which now retails for $1,000 - and is geared for those wanting most of the features of the iPhone X at a cheaper price point, similar to what the company did with the iPhone 5C in 2013.

According to reports, Apple is shifting its focus to iPhones with bigger screens to get more profit. The budget handset is believed to feature a 6.1-inch LCD display and will have toned down specifications in comparison to the XS and XS Max. The anticipated iPhone XS and its larger counterpart are also expected to have this type of screen, while the "cheaper" phone will get an LCD screen.

A leaked slide from a China Mobile presentation shows that the three models of iPhones will be called the iPhone XS, iPhone XC, and iPhone XS Plus.

Apple CEO Tim Cook is expected to announce a new set of iPhone Xs on Wednesday at the company's underground Steve Jobs Theater in Cupertino, California. It will include FaceID, and is expected to be priced around $699.

China Telecom's teaser image states that the upcoming iPhone will support dual SIM cards on dual 4G networks.

Expected to lead the iPhone rollout is a low-priced version of the iPhone X, referred by some as "iPhone Xr", which could super-charge unit shipments. The images show two gold phones, which 9to5Mac says are called the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max.

With most of these services you have a long time to send your iPhone in, and that means you don't need to go without a phone or stress about switching on day one. Apple will also unveil a cheaper 6.1 inch LCD iPhone this year.

Apple is streaming the Gather Round media event live on Twitter for the first time.

Although less likely, Apple may also launch new versions of its iPad Pro range. Meanwhile, the larger display model is expected to offer a screen resolution of 2,688 x 1,242 pixels. Overall, the X was a step in the right direction for Apple. Previous year reports believed that we'll see an iPhone Pro, but these never materialized.
