Apple, an American multinational technology company, is upgrading its smartwatch into a medical device.

The larger screen aids the functionality of the Apple Watch Series 4 - you can view more complications around the watch face at the same time, or view photos and maps in greater detail. "And the watch is unambiguously the most personal product we make", said Ive, who joined Apple more than 25 years ago and first made his mark with the candy-colored iMacs of the 1990s. Apple doesn't release sales figures, but estimates from two analysts suggest the company shipped roughly 18 million watches in 2017. New iPhones unveiled Wednesday offer Apple a chance for fresh momentum in a sputtering smartphone market as the California tech giant moves into new products and services to diversify. When this is compared with Samsung or Google smartwatches, it has been seen that they perform well. Both the version of Apple Watch 3 have got a price drop in India. With this new processor, it is said that it may enable the multi-day battery life that can be extended till a week or more than that. In February, the company announced that the watch would track skiing and snowboarding runs, including data on speed and vertical descent.

To take the test via the Apple Watch 4, a user must launch the ECG app and follow on-screen instructions to place a finger on the screen for 30 seconds.

The Apple Watch Series 4 contains all of the sensors that you'd find in the Galaxy Watch (save for SmartThings and Samsung Pay integration for obvious reasons), but also adds in a few twists.

"We need to make sure that the technology can be validated and that it actually translates to changes in outcomes", he said. Apple iPhone x, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 plus, iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone 6S have got a price slash in the country.

Another bit of good news is that the new Series 4 will be fully compatible with older bands.

Last November, in collaboration with the Stanford University School of Medicine, Apple launched an Apple Heart Study app that used the heart rate sensor inside the Apple Watch to collect data on irregular heart rhythms consistent with Atrial fibrillation, or AFib, a leading cause of strokes.

All recordings and any noted symptoms are stored in the Health app and can generate a PDF that can be shared with health care experts.

It's worth noting that Apple says the ECG and heart monitoring will be available later this year in the United States only.

Fall detection could also be significant, especially for elderly users. The new Apple Watch claims to be able to tell the difference between and trip and a fall - and when the latter occurs, it will suggest calling 911.

If you haven't responded within a minute - perhaps you hit your head and blacked out -the watch can call 911 using your nearby phone or its own cellular transmitter and also send a notification with your location to your preset emergency contacts.

Coming to the price, the Apple Watch Series 4 comes with a price tag of $399 for the Global Positioning System only, non-cellular variant and $499 for Global Positioning System and Cellular capabilities.

Apple says it monitored some 2,500 people - measuring how they fell off ladders, missed a step while walking or got their legs caught in their trousers while getting dressed.
