Chelsea's Maurizio Sarri: 'Horrible' 15-minute spell shows Blues must improve

Marcos Alonso's late victor earned victory for Blues boss Sarri in his first competitive match at Stamford Bridge after goals from Gunners duo Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi cancelled out early strikes from Pedro and Alvaro Morata.

Arsenal stormed back and were level by half-time courtesy of goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi.

Iwobi after the match admitted that the first half was shaky for the Gunners but insisted that the future remains bright for the Emirates landlords.

Arsenal were a little disorganized in the opening minutes but they built up strongly as the game reached its first 30 minutes.

Hazard was on the bench for the west London side's 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town in their Premier League opener after Maurizio Sarri got his reign off to a winning start. "We lost. The result is important", he told BT Sport.

"We only play Sunday, Sunday, Sunday but in September we will start playing Sunday and Thursday and also we are going to play more matches and I think every player will get chances to show us his performance for the team". I think one of the most important clubs in Europe can not sell an important player without the possibility of buying a player on the same level. And with four minutes left to play in the first half Iwobi slammed in a cross from Mkhitaryan to draw Arsenal level at 2-2.

Jamie Vardy was sent off on his first start of the season for Leicester but the team still eased early-season pressure on manager Claude Puel with a 2-0 victory over newly promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers. Maybe there's one moment where he misses three good chances, but another where they'll score three chances that are less clear.

The two men began the game with similar systems, although Chelsea's wingers Pedro and Willian were more advanced in a 4-3-3 formation, as opposed to the Gunners' 4-2-3-1. "In the other 15 it was better to smoke, I think", Sarri, who is a heavy smoker, said.

Paying up to $65 million for a 21-year-old Brazilian with one inconsistent season in the Premier League behind him seemed a gamble by Everton.

"I think we need to give the players calm and continue working", said Emery.

Hazard has two years remaining on his Chelsea contract and has been continually linked with a move to Real Madrid.
