What will the Cleveland Cavaliers do - Valuations of the coaching staff?

Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James (23) reacts during the third quarter against the Golden State Warriors in game four of the 2018 NBA Finals at Quicken Loans Arena.

The Cavs drafted their point guard of the future on Thursday night, and they got a star in Collin Sexton.

The Cleveland Cavaliers aren't offering Kevin Love in any trade offers and intend to have him on the roster next season regardless of any decision LeBron James may make, ESPN reported Wednesday.

The question now is, what does Cleveland's apparent re-commitment to player development mean for James, who is considering whether to leave the franchise and declared he wants to remain in championship mode?

The 2018 NBA Draft is this week and the Cleveland Cavaliers find themselves at a crossroads because they have no idea what superstar LeBron James is going to do in free agency.

James will be playing his 16th season in the league.

Despite their issues at guard, James led the Cavs to their fourth straight Finals, but they sorely missed Irving and didn't have almost enough firepower to hang with the Golden State Warriors, who swept them and won their third title in four years. Cleveland can outbid any other suitor by offering him a five-year, max contract worth approximately $205 million. "I understand who he is as a player and as a person, talked to his parents a lot throughout the course of his college selection, so I know them very well".

The team needs a player that is able to lead, a player whose weaknesses the Cavs can potentially correct, build up his current strengths and grow new levels of performance inside of his role. The win ultimately propelled Alabama to its first NCAA Tournament berth since 2012.

"Loved the substance and character that he was about, and then he came here and had an unbelievable workout", Altman said. Whether that was just his honest feelings or a hint towards the Cavaliers, there is no doubt work needs to be done to the roster for James to feel confident in returning for another season.

The Cavs drafted 19-year old Collin Sexton with the 8th overall pick and the GM was asked if LeBron would have the patience to play alongside the young prospect. While Koby Altman made clear Sexton has a high basketball IQ - something James stressed as a strong preference in a teammate - James has also made clear over the years he doesn't particularly trust rookies in big playoff moments. We were really competitive in this series, and to come away how we came away just really hurt, because I thought we were really in a couple of those games and could've swung the series either way. Does that give the Cavs a better chance at re-signing LeBron in the coming weeks?

Sexton averaged 19.2 points and 3.6 assists as a freshman for the Crimson Tide.

"We managed to get younger". Teammate Marvin Bagley III will likely go inside of the top-three picks tonight, but Carter could have an immediate impact on whoever drafts him as well.
