Russia's remarkable World Cup run ended in a heart-breaking quarter-final defeat on penalties as Croatia bounced back from a late extra-time equaliser to set up a last-four meeting with England.

England face Croatia in Moscow on Wednesday night with a chance to reach only their second World Cup final.

The semifinals are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday and pit Belgium against France on one side of the bracket and England versus Croatia on the other side, with the winners squaring off on Sunday. Pulling in a 4.1/12 in metered market ratings, the almost three decades in the desiring move to the semi-finals for England rose 11% from what the Argentina v. Belgium game got in 2014.

The investment-banking giant changed its prediction after Belgium defeated Brazil in the quarter finals. While South American sides have traditionally not done as well in Europe - and vice versa - this particular World Cup has been completely dominated by Europe.

Zlatko Dalic's men thought they had won the game when centre-back Domagoj Vida put them in front in extra time, only for Russia's Mario Fernandes to head home in the 115th minute and snatch a thrilling 2-2 draw. Captain and top scorer Harry Kane added: "Allan does finishing sessions with us, tells us about opposition defenders, goalkeepers, and tells us maybe where we can exploit a weakness".

"They were sending them to their mums, dads and grandparents who wouldn't believe them when they said how similar I looked!"

For the occasion they have decorated their shop, the Taste Croatia deli in Borough Market, with both England and Croatian flags. He said what we showed on the field was great.

"I could talk about it for days, but I hope to talk about Croatia and this World Cup for years".

Immediately after his penalty went in Rakitic was mobbed by his team-mates - in repeat scenes of Croatia's last-16 shootout victory over Denmark.
