Jerami Grant Returning to Thunder on 3-Year, $27 Million Deal

The Lakers could persuade James to agree to a deal of up to $153 million over four years (though most expect him to sign a two-year with an opt-out), with their youthful roster largely intact for 2018-19. The Thunder lost to Utah in the first round of the playoffs, but the Thunder recruited George heavily during and after the 2017-18 season.

Last year, PG was traded to the team after informing the Pacers that he would not be re-signing with them in order to join the Lakers in his hometown in light of his free agency.

Are the Thunder contenders with George?

He is staying in Oklahoma City. The five-time All-Star announced he was staying in OKC on stage during the party with Westbrook by his side.

As George has stated in the past, Westbrook was a key reason why he agreed to be traded to the Thunder. For his career between IN and Oklahoma City, he's averaged 18.6 points and 6.2 rebounds while connecting on 38 percent of his tries from 3-point range.

"Russ is the reason why this decision is becoming even more easier to make, is the character Russ [has]", George told ESPN's Rachel Nichols in February. "The fact Russ had my back, that's my guy forever, and it's more apparent what this decision needs to be made when it comes down to it".

While Westbrook's reason to throw the party is apparently unknown, the guest list certainly seems to suggest the Thunder are using the opportunity to woo George. But given the unpredictable nature of free agency, and his ties to Los Angeles, it's hard to see him staying with the Thunder for that long. Barring a trade, there's no chance George teams up with LeBron anywhere other than with the Thunder.

The Thunder have been in communication with George since the end of the season and remained in contact with him throughout the past week. "That's always been, I feel with players, they want that option", George said at exit interviews after the season. Without further ado, this is where the top 10 free agents are going (in my opinion).
