His life was taken away from him at the age of 18-years-old after a shooting on June 26th.

With this in mind, when Matthews was being prepared for the wake, his family chose to have him presented in a way that spoke to who he was and what he loved.

The family of a New Orleans man killed in a shooting posed him playing video games while sitting in a chair at his wake.

Renard Matthews, who passed away at 17 years old, was a Celtics fan and enjoyed playing the National Basketball Association 2K video game. WDSU-TV reports his body was positioned in a chair and he had a video game controller in his lap. "Temeka Matthews also said that her son was a big fan of Celtics guard Kyrie Irving".

For Renard's funeral ceremony, the family opted to stage his body as if he were playing his favourite game - NBA2K - while wearing a Boston Celtics shirt and eating Doritos crisps. Police have not yet arrested a suspect. According to News4Jax sister station KPRC-TV, Matthews will be buried on Tuesday.
