It's the first time that PUBG has been on sale with Steam, and the precise major milestone being celebrated is that there are now over 400 million folks who have played the game in total across all platforms, including mobile. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, nicknamed PUBG for short, is a very similar game.

"The Event Pass is created to reflect the opinions of players who wanted a trackable progression-related system, and at the same time allows you to unlock new content in PUBG in a way that is different from the crate and key system", explains PUBG Corp here. After earning certain levels, free DLC like clothing and weapon skins will unlock and a premium version of the Event Pass will unlock more faster.

PUBG Corp said that players will be able to play the missions if they're hesitant about buying the pass, and mission progress will always be tracked. It'll also include "dozens" of daily and weekly missions, some of which are specific to the tropical-themed map.

More information can be found on the new Sanhok and Event Pass page set up by the developer.

The Event Pass is a trackable progression related system, which allows player to unlock cosmetics in the game in a manner different from the crate and key system.
