Prince Louis christening: Kate Middleton confirms christening date for royal baby

Middleton is expected to step out again for Prince Louis' christening.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's youngest child, born on April 23, will be baptised in the Chapel Royal at St James's Palace in London.

George was also christened in the Chapel Royal, but Charlotte was baptised at the Church of St Mary Magdalene in Sandringham. The date coincidently falls a week after Prince George finishes his school year and Princess Charlotte breaks for the summer.

The christening of Prince Louis will take place on July 9.

Both Prince Louis' siblings were baptized by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Prince George in St James's Palace and Princess Charlotte at St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham House.

The baby prince, who will be 11 weeks old at the time of the christening, will be welcomed into the Christian faith dressed in the same frilly, cream gown used for George and Charlotte.

On Saturday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were spotted at Celia McCorquodale and George Woodhouse's nuptials. His siblings were each baptized in the same gown design that a whopping 62 of their ancestors also wore, according to Romper. The original garment was created for Queen Victoria for the christening of her eldest daughter, Princess Royal Victoria, but is now considered too fragile for use.

The baptism will be a private affair, lasting around 30 minutes.

After giving birth to Prince Louis on the 23rd April, Kate's first official public appearance was the wedding of the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The Queen, Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall are set to attend.

Last month, the prince, who is president of the FA, had to miss the FA Cup final to fulfil best man duties at his brother Harry's wedding.

Kate Middleton, 36, gave birth to Prince Louis just under two months ago, and since then has been officially on maternity leave.
