Liverpool agree deal to sign Lyon's Nabil Fekir


Lyon striker Nabil Fakir will be a Liverpool player in the very near future, according to L'Equipe.

Nabil Fekir on the verge of sealing a £48.4 million move to Liverpool.

The France global is expected to undergo a medical today with the deal confirmed shortly afterwards, according to French newspaper L'Equipe.

However Liverpool have made significant progress in their pursuit of the Ligue 1 side's captain, who is keen to join the Champions League finalists.

Earlier in the day, Aulas had said in quotes published on Lyon's website that no deal for Fekir will be completed before or during the World Cup, in which the versatile attacking midfielder will be appearing.

Liverpool have already signed Fabinho from Monaco for £43.7m this summer, while Naby Keita is also arriving after a deal was agreed with RB Leipzig last summer.

"The [transfer] will certainly not close during the World Cup and I do not think there is any change before the World Cup. (We) have not set a base price because we have not discussed this yet".

The France worldwide will become Liverpool's second signing of the summer after the arrival of Fabinho from Monaco. The club have also been reported as having in an interest in Roma goalkeeper Alisson Becker as well as Xherdan Shaqiri, who was relegated with Stoke at the end of last season.
