Avengers: Infinity War Box Office Hits $2 Billion Worldwide

I think the Russo brothers (directors Joe and Anthony Russo) got way too many death threats. Movies released near the end of the year, on the other hand, can have huge runs that stretch into January and February, which are usually wastelands for big films (this year's Black Panther, notwithstanding).

Domestically, "Avengers: Infinity War" is the fifth-highest grossing pic of all time, with $656.1 million through June 11.

Avengers: Infinity War is now the highest earning superhero movie of all time internationally with $1.346B in those markets. "But if you like 'Infinity War, ' there's some stuff to come". That means it's unlikely that Infinity War will catch up to Titanic, and Avatar remains untouchable.

On the global stage, it's now sitting on $1.346 billion and kicked off that good fortune with the second biggest worldwide debut of all time with $382 million, bested only by The Fate of the Furious - the latter had the advantage of also opening in China and earning $185 million from the Asian market alone though. Here, the regenerating degenerate features in his own Marvel 10th anniversary artwork (regardless of the fact that Deadpool was only released in 2016 and isn't part of the MCU), sitting atop Thanos' throne, with the Infinity Gauntlet complete and held high.

Avengers: Infinity War is now playing everywhere. Black Panther remains the top grossing Marvel title stateside and is fighting its way to the $700M finish line, now at $699.4M, third highest of all-time after Force Awakens ($936.6M) and Avatar ($760.5M). The same report predicts a sure-shot $2 billion gross for Avengers 4. Infinity War ($369.7 million) is now the third highest-earning import film of all time in China, only behind The Fate of the Furious ($392.8 million) and Furious 7 ($390.9 million).

Marvel Studios has topped $3.4 billion worldwide this summer with only two releases in the marketplace.

This is not the only record the film has broken though. Anthony and Joe Russo have brought the story alive on the big screen with actors like Robert Downey Jr, Mark Ruffalo, Benedict Cumberbatch and Scarlett Johansson. I have a feeling we're going to be having this exact same discussion again then, and if Avengers 4 is anywhere as good as Infinity War was, then I can't wait to see it dominate as well.
