While quite a few escapes and teasers have granted us a fantastic look at the up coming smart-phone Xiaomi has never ceased posting news around the Redmi S2 since the launch date nears. The Xiaomi Mi 7 is expected to be released later this month on May 23rd. Backed by a 3000mAh battery, the Redmi S2 is said to weigh 170 grams. The 2GB RAM offers 16GB storage and is priced at Rs 5999. On the imaging front, there is a 13MP primary rear sensors with PDAF with1.12?m pixel size, LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture, which comes paired with a secondary sensor of 5MP. The smartphone will have a hybrid dual SIM configuration which indicates that the slot for second SIM can also be used as a microSD card slot. However, the display resolution will be an HD+ (1440 x 720pixels) resolution. There is also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. These sensors are provided by Sony and are paired with f/1.75 aperture lenses. The front-facing camera of the smartphone is a delight for selfie lovers and is packed with a 16 MP camera.
The smartphone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. The lower battery capacity shouldn't matter that much as the CPU is well optimised in its battery consumption to provide a respectable battery life. With the phone belonging to the budget segment, there are some devices which come close to cracking the price vs value on Xiaomi's price point. On the other hand, the Redmi S2 and the Mi A2 (Mi 6x) are likely to launch with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and will support Project Treble since they would be part of the Android One programme. There appear to be not many changes apart from these in terms of the design.
