'Mega Man 11' trailer reveals release date, new mechanics


Mega Man 11 doesn't have an official release date, beyond a nebulous "late 2018" from Capcom, but it looks like the Singapore PlayStation Store may have leaked the release date early, alongside some new information about the game, via a store listing page. Wily, who has begun to invest in an evil idea he conceived while at Robot University. The stunning new visual style refreshes the series' iconic colorfulness, combining hand-drawn environments with detailed, 3D character models.

Capcom announced the news on Tuesday, and spilled a few more details about the game in a trailer that shows off some of Mega Man's new abilities.

Speed Gear: Introduces the ability to slow down time when fighting enemies or platforming. This time, the robot masters include Block Man and Fuse Man.

Both the Speed Gear, which makes the world move much slower relative to Mega Man, and the Power Gear, which boosts regular shoots and enables the Mega Buster to fire two shots at a time, can be switched on and off at will. Controls for an on-screen weapon wheel have been added for easy accessibility to all of Mega man's weapons during combat.

The first numbered Mega Man game in eight years will release on October 2, both physically and on the eShop.
