Previous year during the launch of U11+, HTC said that it would launch a dual camera smartphone in 2018 and the first one could be the U12+. The LG G7 ThinQ was launched on the 2nd of May while the OnePlus 6 will be unveiled on May 16th in London.
HTC has been dormant for quite some time when it comes major smartphone launches. While companies usually resort to showing glimpses of the design of the smartphone, HTC has gone for something different.More news: Golden State Killer suspect Joseph DeAngelo expected in court

The phone was initially spotted with the code name "Imagine", and since that point a number of details have come out about what we can expect from the HTC U12 launch date. HTC did not mention much in the Tweet but asked fans to look out for "a phone that is more than the sum of its specs". A "Plus" moniker could signify a huge upgrade over the HTC U11+ since technically, it does succeed the U11+ and not the U12+. The image he had shared showed the rumoured device with a rear dual camera setup aligned horizontally above the fingerprint scanner. The device will be a successor the U11+ which was launched past year. If rumours are anything to be believed, the U12 Plus will equip a 6-inch QuadHD+ LCD display both a resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels.
However, there's still not a single word on what specs the upcoming HTC device will pack. The base variant might have 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It will run on a 3420mAh battery with a Qualcomm Quick Charge technology. It also showed the phone to have a dual camera setup in the front with minimum bezels on the top and at the bottom.
