Android P's Navigational Moves Strangely Similar to iPhone X's

Google Android P has landed in beta and, for the first time, it is available on a select range of smartphones from other OEMs, in addition to Google's own Pixel smartphones.

"We've been working on this technology for many years", Pichai said during the conference. The company is now adding iPhone X-like gestures to its operating system and it looks like it might actually improve the interactivity with the OS. Other than this, the brand has announced to merge its Google Lens feature in the Android-enabled smartphone, which will let you identify the text and even can be your personal fashion advisor. All you need is the latest version of this launcher.

Similar to Android Oreo, to get to your app drawer, you long swipe from the bottom of the screen, or just swipe upwards from the recent apps view to get to your apps. In both cases, the receivers of the call did not seem to know that they were talking to an artificial intelligence voice as the Google assistant inserted natural-sounding "ums" and "uhs" between sentences and was quick to understand context.

Finally, the Google Assistant home speaker now has a "pretty please" feature that rewards words like "please" when people ask it to do things. As Google noted earlier, Assistant will eventually be able to book appointments for you over the phone and speak to businesses when you can't.

Android Auto, the in-car option for using smartphone apps on your dashboard, began supporting wireless connectivity last month, allowing owners of any Google Pixel or Nexus device to connect their smartphones to their vehicle without a cable. The confirmation comes right after Google's release of Android P Beta at Google I/O 2018. If folks don't activate any of the "digital wellbeing" functions, then the new version of Android P isn't going to really do anything.

Wondering how split-screen works in this new setup?

Google expects that these new features will speed up the process of setting up your Android TV by one-third of the time.

Tap the split screen on the pop-up menu and the app will shift to the top half side of the screen. This is why during the new setup process, users will be able to quickly choose the apps from the suggested list.
