Lockdown lifted, search for bank-robbery suspect continues in Newton

Police say after two hours of investigating the robbery case, police were able to find Charles, arrested him, and charged Charles with armed robbery. The suspect had some type of handgun and pepper spray on him. The suspects pulled him out of his auto, then stole his property and left. The victim says he gave the man change, then left the building.

The Ford was found in south Glenn County, but the driver failed to yield to the officers trying to stop the vehicle.

When officers arrived on the scene, two men told them they had just been robbed at gunpoint by three men. The other man demanded the victim's cell phone, and the victim complied.

Police charged Romanoskey on November 14 with two counts each of attempted robbery, simple assault and harassment.

Around 8:52 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to an aggravated robbery at the Somerset Apartments in the 200 block of East Corporate Drive. When asked if he could help them, one of the suspects advised that they "could do what they want", and motioned to grab something from behind his back.

Even though the official death toll for the incident is nine policemen and eight civilians, reports have indicated between 30 to 50 people died as a result of the attacks.

Officers said they signed warrants for 16-year-old William Allison in connection with the shooting on Albemarle Road from March 18.

Christian David Rockwell, 39, of Nederland, was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and other traffic offenses according to a release from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
