Former First Lady Barbara Bush, the wife and mother of two presidents, has made a decision to end medical treatment for a life-threatening illness.
It said that Mrs Bush, after consulting with relatives and doctors, had chose to "focus on comfort care" at the family home in Houston.

She will now "instead focus on comfort care", according to reports. Jim McGrath, who issued a statement, said that she is surrounded by a familyand appreciates the messages and prayers she's been receiving from people.

ET obtained a statement from the Bush family on Sunday, which was later also posted on Twitter, after she had been hospitalized several times in recent months. She has been treated for decades for Graves' disease, which is a thyroid condition.
