Microsoft is also enabling tabs in Mail, Calendar, OneNote, and MSN News Windows 10 apps, with the ability to have File Explorer running alongside a tabbed version of OneNote or Mail. Windows 10 S -now Windows 10 "S Mode"- limits users to installing apps only available on the Windows Store.

Now, it turns out that their skepticism was warranted because Microsoft has already confirmed that it's scrapping Windows 10 S and replacing it with a new Windows 10 S "Mode". Microsoft has now confirmed this is indeed happening in 2019, and it will be called "10S" mode.
The official details aren't clear, but according to a leak from early February, S Mode will be available for all versions of Windows 10 except Core+ and Workstation. Microsoft had positioned Windows 10 S, released just last May, as its "lightweight" operating system alternative to Google's Chrome OS.
