One Dead, Trooper Injured in Nikoleavsk Officer-Involved Shooting

In the tape, a woman pushes her hand in the face of Officer Kevin Harrell, who then grabs the woman by the hair and slams her down on the ground. She was taken to the hospital and was in critical condition until she later passed away.

The suspect accused of pointing a gun at a Patterson Police Officer has been released from the hospital and booked into jail, Louisiana State Police say.

Aminu Sulley is still being detained to assist in investigating the matter; but the victim, the police officer claimed, was still on admission receiving treatment. In the police station parking lot the wife reportedly threw a bottle at the girlfriend's vehicle. Upon arrival at the scene, the officers knocked on the apartment door and identified themselves as police, but neither the man nor his wife opened the door after multiple knocks.

Cops say the no-goodniks approached the man sitting in his auto between Ridge Boulevard and Third Avenue around 6:30 pm. They followed the vehicle through the Westmount neighbourhood before pulling it over near the intersection of Avenue P and 29th Street.

Raffik Silva Zafret of Santa Ana was arrested Saturday night in the 3900 block of South Bristol Street, according to Santa Ana police Cpl. He then busted a window and fired three shots into the home.

Langston Magnet School, located nearby at 120 Chestnut St., was briefly locked down during the search for the suspect.

As of 9 a.m. Monday, officers say he was going in for another surgery.

Manley didn't explain what prompted officers to shoot the man.

The Yakima Valley Special Investigations Unit is handling the case and the officer who shot Mickel, as is the case of all officer-involved shootings, has been placed on paid administrative leave for the time being.

Manley says the officers are expected to recover.
