Kansas' Vick could be Final Four impact player

With the way that they are clicking on all cylinders, the Wildcats are an even-money favorite to win the tournament heading into the Final Four.

Top overall seed Virginia loses by 20 in the opening round to UMBC, and Nebraska beats Final 4 bound MI by 20 back in January at PBA.

Stamper was able to watch the Wolverines battle it out with Florida State last weekend in the Elite Eight match-up in Los Angeles.

CBS 2 is on the road to the Final Four.

This year's Final Four consists of three blue-blood programs and a Cinderella story.

As No. 1 regional seeds in 2015 and '17, Villanova lost in the second round to North Carolina State and Wisconsin, respectively. Despite shooting a season-low 33.3 percent of the floor and hitting just four three-pointers, the Wildcats limited the Red Raiders to 33.3 percent shooting and outrebounded them, 51-33.

Some have even compared him to Loyola University Chicago's Sister Jean Delores-Smith. The Ramblers, winners of 14 straight, have been the darlings of March Madness, while Loyola team chaplain Sister Jean Dolores Schmidt has become the face of the 2018 Big Dance. But obviously, the Wolverines have to take care of business.

Vick averaged 17.4 points on 56 percent shooting to go with 6.4 rebounds, offering enough hops and athleticism to be the team's best dunker and a capable rebounder from the perimeter. However, the total has gone over in Kansas' last three games with an average combined score of 161.33. There is no doubt in my mind they will pick up a ton of fans for their opening game with MI. Like a year ago, the Wolverines mostly flew under the radar until catching fire late in the season.

One thing Villanova has that most teams do not is the experience. In four games, the Wildcats have defeated Radford by 26 points, Alabama by 23, West Virginia by 12 and Texas Tech by 12. The most recent Wildcats to leave the program early for the National Basketball Association draft were juniors Maalik Wayns and Dominic Cheek in 2012 - neither was selected - and sophomore Kyle Lowry, a first-round pick in 2006.

Jalen Brunson and Mikal Bridges are a one-two punch that few teams can counter. "Obviously I was so close to him, and, ironically, it was 20 years ago nearly to the date that he was in San Antonio with his Utah team. There's not too many teams that get to play in the game, play in the Final Four with guys that have won it", Wright said Tuesday. However, the Jayhawks have two of the best players in the country, Devonte' Graham and Malik Newman.

Body of work: Lawrence and Durham are still feeling the aftershocks of Newman's 13-point overtime explosion, in which he scored every Kansas point in the extra session and finished with a career-high 32 in the Elite Eight win over Duke.

The Kansas Jayhawks are the embodiment of the modern basketball team by winning big with a small line-up. Yet they still managed to knock off the Jayhawks thanks to stingy defense and near ideal 18-for-19 foul shooting. However, if they continue to perform like they have for the last month, they could easily find themselves playing again Monday night.
