Damp day ahead, more heavy rainfall Sunday night

A cold front swept through the Tennessee Valley early Sunday morning, bringing some heavy rain and storms.

Beyond Sunday, Monday will be much nicer, with sunshine returning for the afternoon, along with temperatures approaching the 70 degree mark.

AccuWeather and the weather service agree that temps will hold in that zone for a sunny Monday and Tuesday and a partly-sunny Wednesday.

We'll be breezy tomorrow and highs near 50. We will still probably get some storms moving in too. Right now these two frontal passages aren't overly concerning in regards to severe weather due to limited instability, but it's something we'll watch closely. A line of heavy showers and a few storms progressed southeast this morning and are now an issue for the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida. The rain will become more widespread through Wednesday morning and afternoon, with a rumbles of thunder around too.

By the time this system moves out, we could see another couple inches of rain. Regardless, expect showers and a few storms late Tuesday through the first half of Thursday. Savannah Metro's rain chance increases after 3 p.m. By the end of the week we're finally dry, but cooler again!
