The Bengal CM took to her Twitter account and hit out at BJP's Amit Malviya, who had announced the election dates even before the Election Commission of India.
Later NCP leader Praful Patel, while briefing media on the meeting, said that both the leaders agreed that there should be "maximum unity" among opposition parties to take on the BJP. "But she urged the NCP leader to also speak to other Opposition parties to know their views", a NCP leader said.

Referring to the proposed No Confidence Motion against the BJP, Banerjee said, "I have heard that many BJP MPs will vote against them and this is why the government has not allowed a no confidence motion. Will certainly go if they (Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav) call us to Lucknow", she said. The Congress, despite several electoral setbacks, is still the principal Opposition party in Parliament.
"I told her what the country wants is that there should be a state-wise, one-on-one fight with the BJP".
Interestingly, Banerjee is meeting BJP rebels Shatrughan Sinha, Yashwant Sinha and Arun Shourie on Wednesday. I have been a Parliamentarian myself and I know numerous leaders.

Following her meeting with NCP and RJD leaders, Mamata said the "Lok Sabha elections of 2019 will certainly be interesting".
