Recent Snapchat update enrages users

Snapchatters have been scratching their head ever since a new Snapchat update began to roll out across the world.

"With the release of the new Snapchat update, many users have found that it has not made the app easier to use, but has in fact made many features more hard", the Australian petition, which has garnered more than 66,000 signatures as of Thursday afternoon, reads.

The update contains an nearly completely reconfigured system, removing and replacing some of the traditional designs the app has featured for over a decade.

One of the big criticisms encircled the redesign of the old stories page where one could easily access by swiping left on the main camera screen. Some users jokingly asked who were the ones in charge of the Snapchat update and who were responsible for the design.

"People that you may never Snapchat are now right at the top, making it hard to find the people who you do Snapchat", petitioner Emily Andrews from Roanoke, Va. This prevents any unnecessary updates such as the Snapchat one.

And finally, the Snap Map will now appear on the Discover page in Search. It has renamed the new stories as "Dynamic Friends page".

While users are annoyed by the redesign, a Snapchat spokesperson told The Sun that it is a huge update and it would require "a little getting used to". Here's a breakdown of all the changes, and how to use the new version of Snapchat.

Jacob was more vocal with his critique: "Yeah the new snapchat update really is as bad as everyone was saying. the simplicity of snapchat was the only thing keeping me from fully switching to IG stories". If you want to remain on the older version, you can turn off automatic app updates on your iPhone or Android device. As Snapchat isn't the first (and won't be the last) app to force an unwanted, irreversible update on its users, this is the option we recommend. You now have to go to the user's profile to get a second peak.

"Mm just saw the new Snapchat".

"I deleted the app. Redownloaded it, said I forgot my password, reset it, logged back in - bam, old version lol", Ali Ramos wrote on Facebook.

Or you could just embrace the change. Click the "Create Now" button.source Snapchat If you're using a phone, you can create your own custom Snapchat filters or Lenses by visiting the settings within the application and finding the "Filters and Lenses" tab.
