New iOS 11.3 Feature Slow Down Your Processors - Turn It Off!

Apple has revealed that the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X models will not be significantly impacted by the iOS performance management feature, which the company implemented on older iPhones. In India, the prices start at Rs 2000 for replacing battery. In a revised note investor note, obtained by Business Insider, Barclays analyst Mark Moskowitz explained that Apple's iPhone battery replacement program might help cannibalize iPhone sales. This is huge news for people who have issues with their lithium battery.

"In our view, during the December quarter, with the absence of the $29 battery replacement offer until late in the last week of quarter, many iPhone 6 and 6s users might have thrown-in-the-towel and upgraded to iPhone X or iPhone 8 because their iPhones were slowed down by iOS system updates and aging batteries".

"If sustained", Moskowitz writes, "then we think the prospect of that sought-after super cycle showing up is even less likely".

Apple's letter to Thune mostly outlined its actions that had already been publicly disclosed.

IPhones will automatically shut down in certain conditions: In the letter, Apple said that in certain conditions, such as extreme cold, the smartphone is created to shut down "to protect the device's electronics at low voltage".

If this is true, it seems this is really the beginning of the end for the iPhone X. Apple still seems to be doing ok, as far as iPhone 7/Plus and 8/Plus sales go.

Apple released iOS 11.3 public beta 2 on Wednesday, a day after releasing the second developer beta. They found that the average wait times for a battery replacement were 2 weeks on average, with a maximum wait of 4.5 weeks.

Senator John Thune, a Republican who chairs the committee, said in a statement that "consumers rely on clear and transparent disclosures from manufacturers to understand why their device may experience performance changes". Throttling was coded in the software itself to avoid random shutdowns because lithium batteries have a natural degradation process, and to offset that, Apple cut corners in performance. UBS Group reiterated a "buy" rating and set a $180.00 target price on shares of Apple in a report on Monday, October 9th.
