Lebron refuses to waive no-trade clause

Jeff Green dunked to put the Cavaliers up 61-40 with 4:50 left in the half, but they went scoreless for nearly four minutes while the Magic (17-36) sliced nine points off the lead. Chris Paul forced a trade to the Houston Rockets in the summer, and the Minnesota Timberwolves acquired Jimmy Butler from the Chicago Bulls. Considering the fact that he doesn't seem to be slowing down with age at all, James' all-time marks in these categories could be astounding when he decides to retire.

That will hurt the team when it comes to rebuilding if LeBron James leaves, and that is a huge salary for someone averaging 5.8 points and six rebounds a game. As a result, his effort was called out, along with the rest of his team.

The performance came within a very dramatic time in LeBron's career.

"Just taking some time to get ourselves jelling as far as offensively", Lue said, "with IT being out for so long, and then having to come back and, you know, having to play well, the pressure to play well, when he's really not 100 percent yet as far as getting his legs and conditioning-wise". When asked if he'd waive his no-trade clause if the Cavs wanted to trade him before the February 8 deadline, James made it clear that he wants to make things right in Cleveland this season.

"I owe it to my teammates to finish the season out", he said. I couldn't do that. "It's not just about me".

James has a player option for the 18-19 season that he's been expected to decline to become a free agent.

"We put too much into the game every single day". After the game, Cavs point guard Isaiah Thomas was vocal with his criticism of the team, saying, "when adversity hits, we go our separate ways".

Who We Like: The Timberwolves have covered the spread in four of their last five games overall, are 4-1 against the number in their last five games versus Eastern Conference opponents, and are 7-3 at the betting window in their last 10 games coming off an ATS win.

With the trade deadline nearing, there's no guarantee that Thomas will remain with the Cavs, but one thing that's certain is if Thomas had it his way, he'll prefer to stick around to prove his worth, and hopefully even win it all this year with them.

If Wednesday night's victory is any indication, the Cavaliers can hang with any team in the National Basketball Association.
