1 deputy killed, 4 injured in Colorado Springs shooting


Flick was shot after the suspect led him and other officers on a pursuit. They were in the area of Galley Road and Murray Boulevard when, about 4 p.m., gunfire erupted.

Deputy Micah Flick, 34, was killed while investigating a motor vehicle theft, Sheriff Bill Elder said at a press conference this evening.

Flick was a detective and had served in jail as security, in court as transportation, on the special response team and on patrol, El Paso County Sheriff Bill Elder said during a news conference.

The injured officers' names were not immediately released.
