Winter Weather Advisory issued in parts of northern West Virginia

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for more than two dozen counties in West Virginia from Monday night through Tuesday at noon. Those northwest of Centre County should expect more snow and communities southeast of the county will have less snow.

"This will be a quick hitter and amounts will be on the light side", PA Weather Action Lead Forecaster Chris Corrigan wrote in his forecast discussion for Monday, Jan. 29. It can reduce visibility and potentially cause delays for morning commuters. "Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are expected".

"Unless it snows really hard, there's really no chance for accumulation", Sammler said.

The Eastern PA Weather Authority is calling for a similar scenario.

A hazardous weather outlook is in effect for Central Pennsylvania, according to the National Weather Service, noting commuters should be prepared for the snow to impact travel on Tuesday morning. Ray said in his Fearless Forecast for winter 2017-18, published October 20, to expect a total of 34 inches of snow and ice in Boone before spring.

Another winter storm could affect the area later this week. Then another quick moving front will bring some rain early Friday morning.
