President Trump made a border wall between the US and Mexico one of his campaign's promises, and while the issue has repeatedly been kicked down the road, it appears that the President will pull out all the stops in order to get funding for a border wall, including offering to protect undocumented immigrants.
The proposal by Customs and Border Protection calls for 316 miles (505 kilometers) of additional barrier by September 2027, bringing total coverage to 970 miles (1,552 kilometers), or almost half the border, according to a USA official with direct knowledge of the matter. After confusing the civilized world with his brand of "uniqueness" over the past year, Trump has now reached a new low: I'll fix your DACA problem if you give me money for my border wall.
Details of the request were in a document prepared by the Department of Homeland Security, obtained by ABC News and first reported by the Wall Street Journal.

"What the American people do want, in overwhelming numbers, is to provide legal protection to 800,000 Dreamers and a path toward citizenship for them", he continued, referring to a common name for young immigrants who came to the USA illegally as children.
'This is not going to get us the whole wall we need, but it's a start, ' she said. He said that the administration was undercutting bipartisan efforts to help those protected by DACA with the $18 billion request and other immigration demands. The plan provides one of the most detailed blueprints of how the president hopes to carry out a signature campaign pledge.
The administration's plan, per the document, is to almost double the amount of fencing along the border, from 654 miles now to around 1,000 in total.
