Premier League club to make £150 million bid for Eden Hazard

Manchester City have identified Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard as their number one summer target, Simon Mullock of the Sunday Mirror reports.

But he's ready to change his policy at the end of the season.

In case you didn't know.

Chelsea FC are now third as they at least seek a top-four finish this season in the top flight. Chelsea will not want to let it run down to within two years of expiring, as that would see the winger's value depreciate and the balance of power shift over to the player.

On the other hand, Luka Modric, who now wears the "number 10" jersey, is on the wrong side of 30 and Los Blancos might be looking to sell their star midfielder and bring in some fresh faces.

However, Chelsea fan Merson says De Bruyne is helped by the quality of his team-mates, whereas compatriot Hazard has to do it "on his own".

City refused to meet the £400,000-plus per week wage demands of Alexis Sanchez this month and will target another elite attacker in the summer as an alternative, with former target Hazard reportedly emerging as the leading candidate.

According to Mullock, City believe the presence of Pep Guardiola could lead to Hazard snubbing Real Madrid in favour of a move to City, the club he considered joining in 2012 before deciding on a move to Chelsea. Like I said 10 times before, I want to finish this year and then we'll see.

City are also confident that the lure of Guardiola and Madrid's current crisis will be enough to land their man. Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, Hazard's boyhood idol, is now under a lot of scrutinies with the club now in fourth place in La Liga.
