Numbers have been drawn for Mega Millions jackpot of $450M

PORT RICHEY — A 7-Eleven in Pasco County sold the winning lottery ticket for $450 million, the Florida Lottery announced Saturday. The winning numbers for January 5 were the white balls 28, 30, 39, 59 and 70, plus the gold Mega Ball 10.

USA lottery players will get another shot at becoming super rich on Saturday night, when numbers are drawn for the Powerball jackpot of an estimated $570 million, the fifth largest in the game's history. Numbers will be drawn Saturday night for the seventh-largest jackpot in USA history - $570 million before taxes.

The jackpot victor will receive an estimated prize of $450 million ($281 million cash).

A Florida resident is the sole lucky victor of the massive Mega Millions jackpot that was decided on Friday night.

That would be the fifth-largest jackpot in that game's history. This pales to the record $1.586 billion prize that was won one year ago and split by winners in California, Florida, and Tennessee. The next Powerball drawing will take place on Saturday. In this jackpot run, since October 13 there were more than 18.2 million winning tickets at all prize levels. Powerball has odds of 1 in 292.2 million.

Both games are played in 44 states plus Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The cash option for Friday's jackpot is about $281 million. Powerball adds Puerto Rico.
