Jose Mourinho will allow Zlatan Ibrahimovic to leave Manchester United this month

The Spaniard has always been linked with a move to Zinedine Zidane's side, who are reportedly ready to try to land the 27-year-old again in the summer, but he remains happy with life at Old Trafford.

Ibrahimovic has barely featured for United this season, mostly down to injury, and with the recent acquisition of Alexis Sanchez it seems now that Mourinho has already replaced the big Swede up front. The first time I read something about that was from you, you media.

"You know, Zlatan is in his a year ago of contract".

Speaking to BBC Sport, Mourinho stated: "If it's true and he wants a future at another club we are here to help".

The forward signed a one-year contract with United in August but he has seen just 187 minutes of action.

However, The Sun claims that he was back running on Friday, having been working hard on regaining his fitness at the club's Carrington training ground.

Mourinho also insisted midfielder Marouane Fellaini wants to stay at the club, despite the Belgium global having yet to agree a new contract at Old Trafford.

Carrick is set to retire and join United's coaching staff and Ibrahimovic looks very unlikely to be at Old Trafford next season but Mourinho is still hopeful of keeping Fellaini. "My time with Monaco has been good, but I feel my time here is coming to an end".

While it appears increasingly likely the club aren't preparing to unveil new players, boss Jose Mourinho today revealed one deal they could do. Are we going to reach? "We have common goals, and we go for it". So, I don't know.

"I'm happy with his contribution, I think he's been a great professional for us and I know he wants to stay with us".

The Monaco midfielder Fabinho has issued a come-and-get-me plea to the Premier League sides who were interested in him in the summer, a group that includes both Manchester clubs.
