Starting in January through December 2018, owners of said iPhones can have their batteries replaced for $29.
However, the California-based company's apology and offer of lower-cost replacement batteries may not satisfy Apple consumers who have filed several federal lawsuits against the tech giant over the issue.

But Frank Mendonca, 60, of Dearborn walked out of the store after learning he'd have to wait 45 minutes to find out whether he needed a battery - and then if he did, another two hours to have it replaced.
According to a report of The Investor, an official battery manufacturer has reportedly revealed that Apple charges twice as much as Samsung for battery repairs.
The move comes after Apple received major backlash from customers after it admitted that it intentionally slowed down older iPhones with weakening batteries to prevent them from unexpectedly turning off.
