Telecom press leak reveals smartphone's 5.7-inch HD+ display


Desh ka smartphone - Xiaomi Redmi 5A was launched yesterday in India. There's a 5.2-inch HD IPS display with standard bezels surrounding it at the front. If Micromax has equipped the Bharat 5 well, they might just turn the tables on Xiaomi and turn their luck around. The company has partnered with Vodafone to provide 50GB of free data for new and existing Vodafone subscribers who purchase the new Micromax handset.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A is backed by a 3000mAh non-removable battery, that is claimed to give up to 8 days of standby time. It will be available in Dark Grey, Gold, and Rose Gold colour variants.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A sports a 13MP rear camera with ƒ/2.2 aperture, LED flash, Low light enhancement, HDR, Panorama, Burst mode, Face recognition, and Real-time filters.

On Friday, Indian manufacturer Micromax launched its budget Smartphone Micromax Bharat 5 at a price of Rs 5,555 which puts it directly and squarely in a battle with Xiaomi's "Desh ka smartphone" which is priced at Rs 4,999 and will be available at Rs 3,999 for the first five million customers. To add to the happiness of users, Mukesh Ambani- led Reliance Jio is offering the huge discount on Redmi 5A.

In terms of the internal specs, the Xiaomi Redmi 5 is rumored to have a Qualcomm 625 SoC, similar to Redmi Note 4, Mi Max 2 and Mi A1.

Display: The Redmi 5A comes with a standard 5-inch display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.

Powering the handset is a 1.6GHz quad-core MediaTek processor with 1GB of RAM.

Both phones have dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE and lack a fingerprint scanner. Initially, the Micromax's phone may see slower sales until Redmi 5A's price changes from Rs 4,999 to 5,999.

The smartphone will be available via Flipkart, Amazon and, and Mi Home Stores on 07th at 12 pm December 2017.

Coming to the battery, the Bharat 5 comes with a massive 5000mAh battery while the Nokia 2 which boasts of a "two-day" owing to its large 4,100mAh pack under the hood. Timing is of the essence here, so be ready to book your phone at a discounted price at 12 noon onwards.
