New Year's Eve will be a momentous night for many country music fans - even those who aren't heading to Nashville's big celebration with Keith Urban.

Of course, Times Square will be in the center of the celebration and the show.

"We can all agree that past year didn't go exactly as planned and we are thrilled to move forward together to provide America with an incredible night of music and celebration", Carey said in a joint statement Friday with Dick Clark Productions, which runs the show.

Carey joins previously announced Times Square performers including chart-topping singer/songwriter Camila Cabello, multiplatinum singer/songwriter and actor Nick Jonas and award-winning duo Sugarland.

Mariah Carey is in Aspen with BF Brian Tanaka, but she'll be leaving for The Big Apple the next day ready to prep for round 2 of Dick Clark's Rocin' New Year's Eve. and this time there's a plan to avert disaster.

As for their New Year's resolutions, McCarthy tells Us, "I kind of piggy backed off of Mariah and second chances".

Carey and Dick Clark Productions both admitted that technical difficulties derailed Carey's performance, but neither party was eager to shoulder the blame. Imagine Dragons will also perform from New Orleans while Britney Spears will rock the stage from Las Vegas. Additionally, the evening will feature collaborations from Alessia Cara and Zedd, G-Eazy and Halsey, Bebe Rexha featuring Florida Georgia Line, Hailee Steinfeld and Alesso featuring Florida Georgia Line and watt.
