Today, Microsoft announced a new promotion for the world's most powerful gaming console, the Xbox One X. If you buy it between December 17 and the end of the year, you'll get a free copy of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has been a sensation on PC, and its success is transferring to the console market. The battle royale game is definitely one of the most hyped games of 2017, and you can expect Microsoft to continue beating the PUBG drum during the rest of the holiday season.
That's why Microsoft is looking to take advantage of the PUBG phenomenon and looking to use it to push a few new Xbox One X units.
PUBG Now Comes Free with Xbox One X at Select Retailers
As reported by Microsoft, PUBG already amassed over 1 million players on Xbox One in its first 48 hours. The promotion is available in select regions for a limited time, starting December 17 through December 31. It's safe to say you won't have trouble finding people to play against/with since the population is high on both PC and Xbox One. There were moments when the game hit around 10FPS on both consoles and neither the Xbox One X or the Xbox One could hold a constant 30FPS for an extended period.
The good news is that the game received some visual enhancements, hitting 4K resolution on Xbox One X and the bad news is that players discovered the fact that the game does not provide the flawless experience that everyone was hoping for.More news: Oil prices up slightly on pipeline outage support
