Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle are celebrating their recent pledge to marry with the release of their official engagement photographs on Thursday.

Kensington Palace provided us with a stunning glimpse at the lovebirds's happily ever after with two snaps of the newlyweds-to-be, which were captured by photographer Alexi Lubomirski at Frogmore House in Windsor.

Lubomirski said in a statement: "I can not help but smile when I look at the photos that we took of them, such was their happiness together".

Prince Harry, 33, and Meghan Markle, 36, got engaged on November 27, and a wedding date and a wedding venue have already been confirmed.

In Harry's shots though we see the prince on what looks like a euphoric high, completely unembarrassed at acting the lead male role and letting us see how besotted he is with his leading lady.

The couple are set to marry on May 19 in St George's Castle at Windsor Castle, and there have already been rumours over who will and won't be attending. Along with the photo, a message read: "Thank you so much for all of the wonderful comments following the release of Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle's engagement photographs". The dramatic dress featured a sheer top adorned with an embellished appliqué and a full bombastic black ruffle skirt.

Harry and Meghan's photos aren't just loving, they are also sexy. Kensington palace states "As a way to say thank you, they have made a decision to share this candid photograph from the day of their portrait sittings directly with all of you".

The royal lovebirds stroll hand in hand in this photo.

The release of the pictures comes after Meghan spent the day with Harry and members of the royal family at Queen Elizabeth II's annual Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.

Both of those photos appeared to have been taken indoors.

The second photo showed the couple in a tight embrace, sporting giant smiles as their heads touched. Prince Charles was in a button-up shirt and sitting as Diana, in a denim shirt, hugged him from behind.
